Our U14 boys’ rep team won the Canadian Youth Basketball League D2 championship. GREAT work boys!

Under the direction of Coach Tim Sheppard, and his assistant coaches Brad Clark and Richard Thompson, the U14 boys’ team racked up 3 gold medals playing U14, 1 gold and 1 bronze medal playing a year up (U15) during the 2018-2019 season.  Their impressive 17-3 Division 2 Canadian Youth Basketball League (CYBL) record gave them a buy in the first rounds of the CYBL playoffs.  They further impressed their fans by winning the quarterfinals against Toronto City Elite (54-45), moving on to win the semi-finals against Team Murray (67-61).  They went into the championship game as the underdogs, but with Hamilton Celtic pride they took home the gold medal in the finals against the Waterloo Wolverines (61-48).

Not only are they dedicated athletes with the Hamilton Celtics, but Dylan Craven was also selected for CYBL’s “All Star” 2019 team.  Ethan Clark and Colin Ball were selected for OBA’s Centre for Performance Prep 2018-2019.  They were both further selected for OBA’s Centre for Performance CP Boy’s Centralized, training in Toronto as the top 40 of the province.  Sebastian Reyes, Nathan Sheppard, Ethan Clark, and Colin Ball were all selected for OBA’s Ontario Summer Development Program.

The team did so well this season that they were invited to play in the Under Armour Future Canada Circuit.  Proving their motto “All in, all the time”, they accepted the invitation and extended their summer season playing in the CYBL Summer League as well.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
