Return to Play
Ontario Basketball is currently in Phase 3 of its Return to Play Guidelines, part of a multi-phased approach to safely resuming basketball activities at all levels of play.
We are closely following OBA’s updates to track the ongoing measures by the Ontario government and medical health authorities as they relate to basketball.
In Phase 3, teams are allowed to conduct non-contact practice indoors (see OBA’s 2020-21 Drill Book) subject to local gathering limits in your region, but no competition is being sanctioned at this time.
For further resources and instructions please review the Return to Play Guidelines on basketball.on.ca – Click here.
The CYO Needs Your Help
The Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) is in financial difficulties and in dire need of monetary assistance to sustain operations for the upcoming school year. If funds are not available, all student-athletes will not have the opportunities to participate in any CYO programs including basketball. Please pass the word to support The Catholic Youth Organization to continue their mission, which they’ve done in the past 78 years serving the student-athletes in our beautiful community. Ontario Trillium Foundation
It is with great excitement to share that the Hamilton Celtics Basketball Club has been chosen to receive the Resilient Communities Fund Grant through the Ontario Trillium Foundation! OTF invests in projects each year that assist in making Ontario communities healthier and more vibrant. This grant has allowed for our club to rebuild and recover from COVID-19 providing virtual training opportunities like our Back2Hoops Program coached by our very own Coach Mark Douglin and Coach Osha Joaquim. Our 6-month virtual program encourages our young players to keep up and master the fundamental basics of basketball during the pandemic. We would like to thank our MPP, Monique Taylor and the Ontario Trillium Fund for choosing our club to receive this grant. We are looking forward to resume our programs safely in the upcoming future, and wish our Celtic Family to stay safe and healthy during these times. We miss you! Learn more…
